CC 2006 10-10 CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING October 10, 2006 The October 10,2006, Regular Meeting ofthe City Council ofthe City of Poway, was called to order at 7:06 p.m. by Mayor Cafagna at the Poway City Council Chambers, 13325 Civic Center Drive, Poway, California, for a Regular City Council Meeting. CITY COUNCILMEMBER ANNOUNCEMENTS A. Poway Bob's Restaurant Review. None. Deputy Mayor Rexford thanked all involved with the Train Song Festival, noting it was an excellent event. PUBLIC ORAL COMMUNICATIONS Mayor Cafagna explained the procedures for Public Oral Communications noting that State law may prohibit the City Council from taking action on items not on the agenda, and items will be referred to staff. The following people spoke: Val Derkach, Poway, disagreed with facts presented by Dr. Parker of Rea & Parker Research, in his report to the City Council last week on affordable housing. Fred Dangel, Poway, asked for City assistance in getting a pothole repaired on Carriage Road south of Poway Road, and would like to see a road widened to include sidewalks. 8728 Page 2 - CITY OF POWAY - October 10, 2006 WORKSHOP ITEMS 1. Presentation by Scott Tulloch, San Diego Wastewater, regarding the Point Loma Wastewater Treatment PlantlOPRA. (0870-50) Scott Tulloch, Directorofthe City of San Diego Metropolitan Wastewater Department, gave a presentation on the wastewater services, Point Loma Wastewater Treatment Plant, and the Ocean Pollution Reduction Act. 2. Presentation and Update on Recycled Water Use. Jim Howell, Director of Public Works, gave a presentation on the recycled water use in the City of Poway and the recycled water agreement with the City of San Diego.
