RESOLUTION NO. 06-098
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY. CALIFORNIA,
ESTABLISHING A NO PARKING ZONE ALONG GLENOAK ROAD BETWEEN
POMERADO ROAD AND ABRAXAS HIGH SCHOOL DRIVEWAY AND A DIAGONAL
PARKING ZONE ALONG THE NORTH SIDE OF GLENOAK ROAD BETWEEN THE
ABRAXAS HIGH SCHOOL DRIVEWAY AND CRESTWOOD AVENUE
WHEREAS, Section 21100 of the California Vehicle Code permits local authorities to
adopt rules and regulations by Ordinance or Resolution to regulate traffic by means of official
traffic control devices; and
WHEREAS, Section 21351 of the California Vehicle Code permits local authorities to
place and maintain such traffic signs upon streets and highways as may be necessary
properly indicate and to carry out the provisions of the local ordinances or to warn or guide
traffic; and
WHEREAS, Sections 10.28.030 of the City's Municipal Code permits the establishment
of diagonal parking zones on any of the streets or portions of the streets; and
WHEREAS, Sections 10.28.080 of the City's Municipal Code authorizes the City to
prohibit stopping, standing or parking in order to eliminate a hazardous condition; and
WHEREAS, The removal of parking on Glenoak Road between Pomerado Road and
the Abraxas High School driveway will allow the safe and efficient intersection approach lane
striping; and
WHEREAS, the City Council ofthe City of poway has determined that 90 foot sections
west of the Abraxas High School driveway, should be established as "No Stopping, Standing
or Parking at Any Time" zones.
WHEREAS, the City Council ofthe City of Poway has determined that the north side of
Glenoak Road between the Abraxas High School driveway and Crestwood Avenue, should be
established as an angle parking zone.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway as
follows:
Section 1: In accordance with said Section 21351 of the California Vehicle Code, gO-foot
sections on the north and south side of Glenoak Road west of the Abraxas High School
driveway. should be established as "No Stopping, Standing or Parking at Any Time" zones.
In accordance with said Section 21351 of the California Vehicle Code, the north
side of Glenoak Road between the Abraxas High School driveway and Crestwood Avenue,
should be established as a diagonal parking zone.

PASSED, ADOPTED, AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Poway at a
regular meeting thereof this 19th day of December 2006.
