RESOLUTION NO. 07-003
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
ESTABLISHING A NO PARKING ZONE ALONG THE NORTH SIDE
OF OAK KNOLL ROAD JUST SOUTH OF POWAY ROAD
WHEREAS, Section 21100 of the California Vehicle Code permits local authorities to
adopt rules and regulations by Ordinance or Resolution to regulate traffic by means of official
traffic control devices; and
WHEREAS, Section 21351 of the California Vehicle Code permits local authorities to
place and maintain such traffic signs upon streets and highways as may be necessary to
properly indicate and carry out the provisions of the local ordinances and to warn or guide
traffic; and
WHEREAS, Sections 10.28.080 of the City's Municipal Code authorizes the City to
prohibit stopping, standing or parking in order to eliminate a hazardous condition; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway has determined that the north side of
Oak Knoll Road, 72 feet east and 83 feet west of the commercial driveway just south of
Poway Road should be established as a "No Stopping, Standing or Parking at Any Time" zone
to provide adequate corner sight distance for exiting motorists.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway as
follows:
Section 1: In accordance with said Section 21351 of the California Vehicle Code, the north
side of Oak Knoll Road shall be established as a "No Stopping, Standing or Parking at Any
Time" zone for a distance of 72 feet east and 83 feet west of the commercial driveway just
south of Poway Road.
PASSED, ADOPTED, AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Poway at a
regular meeting thereof this 2nd day of January, 2007.
