Learn why this is important BX-I ER AL E IAI L Hello Austin, My name is Bill McLeod and my wife Wendy I are residents of Poway living on Fairgate Drive directly behind the dealership. As you know, there is a horse property adjacent to the property which the owners, Roseanne and Jean, have put a lot of time and money into to develop it from an overgrown patch of weeds. Our home is right across the creek from them. We are not against this project, as long as you ensure that proper soundproofing is installed on the rear walls of the proposed shops, and proper containmenUenvironmental control for oils/fluids as well, so as not to infringe on our quality of life nor the quality of the diverse and robust riparian environment that exists on the other side of the property wall. Please send me your environmental study, or reply/explanation of why you think CEQA exemption applies as well as a test results of your allowable decibel report. Again, we are not against this expansion as long as it does not adversely affect our neighbors, their horses, nor the adjacent ecosystem. I look forward to your response and will evaluate the data to ensure no further action is required by us. I have not finished my review of CEQA but common sense tells me there should be some sort of environmental review due to its proximity to a year round flowing creek that ultimately goes to the ocean. Thank you Austin. Sincerely, Bill McLeod CMVP, LEED Green Assoc. At the Jan 21, 2020 meeting, Honda was noted as having ongoing CUP violations and I spoke at that meeting about the lights at the back of the building shining on the neighborhood and the car deliveries on Gate Dr. Council made numerous comments about how Honda needs to be a good neighbor and not violate these CUPs. My question then is, has Honda eliminated the violations in the last two and a half years or are they still ongoing? If Honda has not "fixed" their violations, then I'd be inclined to deny the construction of the new service bays. If they have fixed the violations, then Honda needs to try their darnest to NOT ever violate the old CUPs as well as the ones for the bays. Note that directly across Gate Dr are 3 assisted living houses who really don't need more noise in their lives. In response to Council inquiry, Director of Development Services Bob Manis explained that the City will be modifying signage to allow the Sheriff's Department to ·enforce the prohibition of deliveries and pickups on Gate Drive. General Manager of Poway Honda Jackie Mafi spoke regarding their plans to address the concerns and their commitment to being better neighbors.
