POVVAY' CALIFORNIA, ADDING A NET 2.08 FULL TIME
EQUIVALENT (FTE) PC}G|T|ON8 IN THE FINANCE AND
COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT8, APPROVING TWO
NEW CLASSIFICATIONS ON THE CITY OF POVVAY POSITION
CLASSIFICATION PLAN, AND APPROVING THE
MANAGEMENT/CONFIDENTIAL SALARY SCHEDULE
WHEREAS, the Poway Municipal Code requires the City Manager to beresponsible for
the efficient administration Ofall the affairs 0fthe City under the Manager's control;
VVHEREAS, this includes @ duty and responsibility to study oFgaOiZEdiOO8| staffing as
needed in the interest of efficient, effective and economical conduct of the City's business;
WHEREAS, the City OfPoway iScommitted to ensuring the effective organization of city
resources iDorder to provide the highest quality services and programs tomeet the needs Dfthe
Poway community;
WHEREAS, the City Council 8ppFOV8S the changes incorporated into the PDVV8y Position
Classification P|8D' 81L8Ched hereto as "Exhibit A^ and the City of POVV8y
Management/Confidential 8@|8ry 8Ch8dU|e attached hereto as "Exhibit B"; and
WHEREAS, the City Council must approve new classifications added t0the City'S Position
Classification Plan and changes to the Salary Schedules, and the new classification specifications
for Deputy City Clerk and {3eDe[8| Maintenance Worker | are on file in the Human Resources and
Risk K88nag9nlSDt [}ep@rtDleO[ and available OO the Qty'S VVebSite.
NC)VV, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of PoVVGy, that the
f0||OvviOg personnel changes are authorized 8ff8CdV8 September 20. 2022:
SECTION : Addition of 1.0 FTE Senior Accounting Technician to the FiO8DCS
Department.
SECTION 2: Reduction Of the Confidential Senior Administrative Assistant FTE in the
Finance Department from 0.75to 0.50.
SECTION : Addition of 1.0 FTE F|ecnaoUon Coordinator position in the Community
Services Department.
SECTION : Increase in the FTE for Administrative Assistant || in Community Services
[}8p2rt08Ot. Community Center L]iViSiOO from 0.68 to 1.0 FTE.
SECTION : Creation of a Deputy City Clerk classification added to the City's Position
Classification P|GD to replace the Senior Administrative Assistant position in the City Clerk's
Office, and established on the KU8D8g8DleDt/CoOf)deOd@| Salary GChedU|8 at Grade 571, with a
monthly salary range Of$5.07O - $8.117. effective S9pteDlUer2O. 2022.
