I am in full agreement with updating the old playground facilities at Lake Poway.
I'm concerned with the shade structures that will cover the equipment, will they be metal or
shade fabric? I don't think that the agenda item states which they will be. If they are going to
be metal, will they actually be finished with the construction by the end of this year since the
terms of the grants state construction must be finished by then? I ask because the
neighborhood park near me is going to get two metal shade structures and they seem to have
been "in order" for quite a few months so far, with delivery and setup maybe in June. It seems
to be a holdup in the manufacturing company's process and not the fault of Poway.
Given the timeline for advertising the bids (Feb 22) with three months until the start of
construction, will the shade structures (if they are metal) be completed by the end of this year?
