SUBJECT: Acceptance of the'Reservoir Overfiow Modifications project; Bid No. 22-008, with U5,
Tank & Mechanicail Services, Inc., as Complete
On June 7, 2022, the City Council awarded the contract for the Reservoir Overflow Modifications
project to U.S. Tank & Mechanical Services, Inc., the lowest responsible and responsive bidder, in the
amount of $138,500I This action will accept the project as complete,

It is recommended the City Council:
(1) Accept the Reservoir Overflow Modifications project as complete;
(2) Authorize the City Clerk to file and record the Notice of Completion;
(3) Authorize the release of the retention in the amount of $7,689,84, if unencumbered, 45 days
after City Council acceptance;
(4) Release The Ohio Casualty Insurance Company Bond for Material and Labor, in the amount of
$138,500 after the release of retention; and
(5) Retain The Ohio Casualty insurance Company Bond for Faithful Performance for a period of
one year.
This project achieved compliance with the California State Water Resources Control Board Division of
Drinking Water requirements to eliminate potential cross -connections between the potable water
distribution system and the stormwater drainage system. Four reservoirs were retrofitted with
modifications to remove the potential cross -connections and ensure compliance with current
regulations,
There was one change order for this project, which increased the contract amount by $15,296.75. The
change order included additional costs for materials and labor for design changes required due to
site constraints revealed during construction. The final contract amount is $153,79635.

The matter of acceptance of public improvements that have been completed', which were the subject
of a prior environmental determination, is not subject to the California Environmental Quality Act.
Fiscal IMPA—ct:
Sufficient funds are available in the project account (WT035) for the release of retention. Funds
remaining in the project after acceptance will be returned to the Water Enterprise Fund (51 00).
