SUBJECT: Acceptance of the FY 2021-22 Accessibility Improvements - Community Park
Pathways project; Bid No, 23-003, with SDC Engineering inc., as Complete
�ummary:
On September 20, 2022, the City Council awarded the contract for the FY 2021-22 Accessibility
Improvements - Community Park Pathways project to SDC Engineering Inc., the lowest responsible
and responsive bidder, in the amount of $108,814,54. This action will accept the project as complete.

It is recommended the City Council:
(1) Accept the FY 2021-22 Accessibility iImprovements, - Community Park Pathways project as
complete;
(2) Authorize the City Clerk to file and record the Notice of Completion;
(3) Authorize the release of the retention in the amount of $5,879.94, if unencumbered, 45 days
after City Council acceptance;
(4) Release The Ohio Casualty Insurance Company Bond for Material and Labor in the amount of
$108,814.54 after the release of retention; and
(5) Retain The Ohio Casualty Insurance Company Bond for Faithful Performance for a period of

Discussion:
The FY 2021-22 Accessibility Improvements - Community Park Pathways project was funded through
the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, The County of San Diego manages the
program and distributer, funds to the City. This year's project removed and replaced existing concrete
pathways with pathways that are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), The
replaced pathways include the connections between the baseball fields, basketball court and existing
restroom at the southeast corner of the park,
There was, one change order for this project, which increased the contract amount by $8,784.35, The
change order included costs for materials and labor associated with additional concrete areas

requested by the City to be removed and replaced during construction, The final contract amount is
$117,59839,
The matter of acceptance of public improvements that have been completed, which were the subject
ofa prior environmental determination, is not subject to the California Environmental Quality Act,
