May 19, 2023 City Council Members and City Clerk, I am a Poway Resident and don't
agree with having ANY fitness facility ANY larger than the proposed 3,000 square feet built
at The Farm project. We were PROMISED THAT THE PLAN PRESENTED WOULD NOT
CHANGE, and now huge changes are being slipped in by the developer and owner. This is
a betrayal of the public trust, and I beg the Mayor and City Council Members to not allow
this change to take place. You are OUR protection and representatives, not the developers.
The Farm development has caused road issues such as: rough patches and bumps that
are damaging to our vehicles at 45 mpg; My husband got a flat tire from debris in the road
in front of The Farm; And the traffic signals at Martincoit and Valle Verde were screwed up
and not working properly for months. The developers appear to have said whatever they
needed to win over the community during the Prop P zoning change vote, and promised
that there would be no changes in the presented plan. I don't believe this proportionally
immense Commercial Building belongs in the Farm Community -our neighborhood. Such a
change will put even further strains on traffic in my area. Currently the facility proposed is
over 10 times the size of the promised building. Lifetime Fitness is also not a local business
and I have recently learned that there are local businesses that have proposed designs,
and possibly even contractual documents in place to build a facility along the lines of what
was originally promised by the developer. Please let me know how I can further help in
addressing the situation and how to best follow up with the city. I am requesting that this

Mayor Vaus, City Clerk Gallagher,
I am a Poway resident and am so disappointed by the Poway City Council's actions regarding
The Farms. I have lived in Poway for over 30 years and it is sad to see what has happened
with this development. I live on A venida Florencia and can barely turn left onto Espola now
and can't imagine what it will be· like when The Farms is finished. The traffic is terrible. I don't
believe the Lifetime Fitness' disproportionally immense commercial building belongs in The
Farms. It is not what we voted for.
Do the right thing, keep your promise, and vote this unprecedented expansion of the original
plan down.
I am requesting that this email be documented in the next meeting packet.

I am a Poway Resident and don't agree with having the Lifetime Fitness facility proposed for
The Farm project, let alone even being entertained due to its blatant size(Density and Intensity
along with Traffic )increase and the developers deceitful tactics to win over the community
during the Prop P zoning change vote. I don't believe this proportionally immense
Commercial Building belongs in the Farm Community -our neighborhood. Currently the
facility proposed is over 10 times the size of the promised building, which would be a "major
change" to the plan that was voted on.
Lifetime Fitness is also not a local business and we have recently learned that there are local
businesses that have proposed designs, and possibly even contractual documents in place to
build a facility along the lines of what was originally promised by the developer.
Please let me know how I/we can further help in addressing the situation and how to best
follow up with the city.
I am requesting that this email be documented in the next meeting packet. I also respectfully
request that I am alerted if and when Lifetime Fitness submits their updated proposals (via
email). If Lifetime has already submitted prior to this email being received -please let me
know.
