It seems that in the last few years you have forgotten that you work for the people of Poway not developers.
It appears that in the last few years you have lost control of current and future projects.
Item IO gives you the chance to work with your public rather than against them. How about a bus ride and picnic
with them to discuss their concerns.
Your attorney says that there is no appeal process. Perhaps it's time to make one.
Thank you for your time.

Dear City Council,
As a resident of Holly Oak Way, I respectfully request that the city hold a rehearing on the
final map approval for the McKee Orchard Subdivision.
The city has failed to follow through on items such as conducting a traffic study on the impact
of the addition of 20 homes plus casitas that may bring additional sublettors, and has denied an
appeals process to the map approval. Furthermore, the city has failed to hold the developer
accountable for the theft of residents' personal property by cutting down personally owned
trees.
Please set all this right by turning around the planned development so that access is off of
Twin Peaks instead of increasing the traffic and decreasing pedestrian safety on Midland and
Holly Oak Way.
Thank you,
Sonia and Mark Caskey

I fully support a RECONSIDERATION of the McKee Orchard project. Facts that should
have been communicated to the Kumeyaay nation and to Poway residents were missing in the
initial approval cycle. In addition, a full and unbiased traffic study was not completed.
My daughter and I have lived in Poway over 50 years; I live off of Midland on Putney Road;
she lives on Kent Hill Way,just east of the McKee property. We are very aware of Midland
Road traffic problems, as the City should also be aware given recent well publicized traffic
deaths. The hurried assessment of the development ON INDIAN BURIAL GROUNDS and
absence of traffic considerations reflects poorly on City of Poway leadership.
Additionally, both my daughter and I are members of the Poway Historical and Memorial
Society. The Mckee development is a legitimate concern of the Society even though it does
not appear that City Council Members have that same level of respect.

To the Honorable Poway City Council:
I am writing to support the consideration of a rehearing regarding the final Map Approval for
Tentative Tract Map 21-002 McKee Orchard.
Please take action to create a re-hearing on the use of the Mc Kee Orchard for housing
development.
The recent unexpected discovery of Native American artifacts on this property is not been
considered or reviewed by interested organizations and the appropriate Native American
Communities. City of Poway is well known for its steadfast consideration of historical sites and
historical preservation. It seems there has been an oversight in this instance and I know the citizens
of Poway and other interested parties would appreciate the City Council's caution to allow new
information to be presented in regards to this property.

Re: Consideration of Request to Hold Rehearing on Final Map Approval for Tentative Tract Map 21-003
(McKee Orchard Subdivision)
To the Honorable Poway City Council:
The Poway Historical and Memorial Society Board have voted to support the request and
further; the holding of a rehearing in regards to the McKee Orchard Subdivision.
We take this position based upon the findings in the "FINAL Cultural Resources Technical
Report''. Specifically, that previous cultural resources have been recorded and at least one resource
covers the entire proposed map. This map and surrounding areas have been previously recommended
eligible for listing in both the California Register of Historical Resources (CRHR) and National Register of
Historic Places (NRHP) under Criterion 4 & D, respectively.
The Poway Historical and Memorial Society and locally affected native tribal authorities were
not made aware of these findings. By not notifying our organizations and the City not pursuing these
important efforts at preservation, we feel a Rehearing is justified.
We appreciate your consideration on this historically significant matter.

Regarding Item # I 0
City Council meeting of 6/13/2023
Consideration of Request to Hold a Rehearing on the Final Map approved for the McKee Orchard
Subdivision
Dear Mr. Mayor and City Council Members,
It has come to our attention that more than just Indian artifacts have been found at the McKee
Orchard/Cornerstone Development just to the west of our house on Kent Hill Way. My wife and I watched
over our wall as the Indians located what appeared to be human remains that they carefully removed and
then held a small ceremony. How can you allow this project to go forward when it is apparent that this
property is an Indian burial ground and a sacred site to our Indigenous neighbors who have been treated
with so much disrespect already in the past. How many more bodies may be buried there that weren't
discovered during the initial grading? There must have been more than one, don't you think?
Please take the right approach and reconsider the final map for this project. Show some respect for the
Indian Tribes affected. Show some backbone and stand up for once to a predatory developer seeking to put
profit above all else. Consider the superstition and stigma associated with building upon sacred Indian
burial sites. It's a black eye for the City of Poway to allow this to happen.
Thank you for your time and due diligence.
Sincerely;
Ralph and Luan Taylor

Dear City Council,
We are concerned about what we're hearing about the Holly Oak/McKee Orchard/Cornerstone
Development. Is it true that that area is actually an Indian burial ground? Were the appropriate
tribal councils informed? We support a rehearing (Agenda Item #10) at next week's
special meeting. We are unable to attend in person on Tuesday (June 13), but we want our
voice and concern to be heard on the matter so that is why we are sending this email.
Also, the name "McKee Orchard" is a misnomer now since sadly most of the trees have been
removed. This is heartbreaking to our neighborhood. Poway is losing its charm with so much
development. Please help us preserve our quality of life by listening more to the residents of
Poway and voting accordingly. It's changing so quickly and it makes us sad.
Thank you,

Hi,
This is a public comment for item #10 "Consideration of Request to Hold Rehearing on
Final Map approved for McKee Orchard Subdivision"
Please take into consideration the safety and opinions of the neighbors that are directly impacted and the respect of
the tribes.
First off, thank you all for your service to our city. This is a nice city and I'm happy to be here.
However, I would just like us to listen to each other more and establish a relationship. The council meeting feels
disconnected and more like a court than a meeting.
See you all soon at the council meeting.
Thank you again,
Andrew Vasquez
