A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
APPROVING A MODIFICATION TO COMPREHENSIVE SIGN PROGRAM 00-03(M)
AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. P-01-02

WHEREAS, Comprehensive Sign Program (CSP) 00-03(M), submitted by Dennis
Brothers for Foremost Business Parks, Ltd., Applicant, requests the approval for a
modification to the Comprehensive Sign Program for the Napoli Business Park located
at 12720, 12740, 12760, 12780, 12840 and 12860 Danielson Court, within the South
Poway Planned Community; and
WHEREAS, on August 17, 2004, the City Council considered the above-
referenced item.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway
as follows:
Section 1: This proposed project is Categorically Exempt (Class 11) from the
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 15311 of the CEQA
Guidelines, in that it is for the placement of minor structures accessory to (appurtenant
to) existing facilities.
Section 2: The proposed use is in accordance with the purposes and standards
contained in the Poway Municipal Code and the South Poway Specific Plan.
Section 3: The City Council hereby rescinds Resolution No. P-01-02 and approves
Comprehensive Sign Program 00-013(M), subject to the following conditions:
A. Within 30 days of approval, the applicant shall submit in writing that all conditions
of approval have been read and understood.
B. All signs shall conform to the sign criteria and design guidelines contained within
the South Poway Specific Plan Development Standards and the general
provisions of the Comprehensive Sign Ordinance of the Poway Municipal Code
as amended from time to time.
C. Upon submittal of a Sign Permit application pursuant to this Comprehensive Sign
Program, the applicant shall provide evidence that the property owner or its
agent has approved the proposed signage.
D. Addresses on buildings shall be a minimum of eighteen (18) inches in height and
a maximum of twenty-four (24) inches in height, not to exceed four (4) square
feet.

E. The following design standards shall apply:
1. Freestandinq Siqn:
a. Shall be a maximum of six (6) feet in height and maximum sign
area of forty (40) square feet per each side of sign.
b. Shall be located so as not to interfere with the sight visibility along
Danielson Court, or encroach within the City's right-of-way.
c. Individual signs on the freestanding sign shall be Frazee Mariner
Blue, Red #2157, or Black #2025.
d. The sign letters shall be individual white foam letters.
e. Street addresses shall be incorporated into the face or structure of
the freestanding sign in numerals at least six (6) inches high.
2. Wall Siqns:
a. Shall be constructed of individual foam letters.
b. The tenant/company name shall be located in the sign area as
designated on the CSP 00-03 plans on file with the City, and shall
be located directly above the entry doors.
c. One (1) wall sign is permitted for each tenant space except for
corner suites, which may have a maximum of two (2).
d. Wall signs are not permitted to be placed on the building face
higher than twelve (12) feet from finished grade.
e. A maximum of one (1) logo per wall sign is permitted. The use of
different colors for the tenant logo will be allowed, subject to the
approval of the Director of Development Services
f. In addition to White, sign lettering on wall signage may have the
following colors: Frazee Mariner Blue, Red #2157, or Black #2025.
g. Wall signs are limited to identification of the business, use, and
service provided and/or identifying logo.

3. Business Directorv Siqns:
a. Shall be limited to listing the tenant's name and suite number.
b. Shall be a maximum of six (6) feet in height and maximum sign
area of twelve (12) square feet per each side of sign.
F. Approval of this request shall not waive compliance with Chapter 17.40 of the
Zoning Code and all other applicable City Ordinances in effect at the time of Sign
Permit issuance.
G. Prior to installing a sign, the applicant shall obtain a Sign Permit from the
Planning Division and any necessary Building Permits.
H. Lettering and font style of sign copy shall be approved as part of the individual
Sign Permit.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Poway,
at a regular meeting this 17th day of August 2004.
