AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
DECLARING THE N.:,:~ FOR A /~3EVELO1M~HIqT
TO FJNCTION IN SAID CITY
~I~EREAS, there exists within the City of Poway blighted arum as defined in
the O~t,,,~nity R~tevelopme~t law contained in the California Health and Safety
(]ode; and
~IiEt~AS, California Health and Safety Oode, Section 33100, created in the
City of Poway a public body, corporate and politic for the purpose of exercising
the powers granted by the (kmlnunity Redeveloi~ne~lt law, and pursuant to Section
33101 thereof, said public body corporate and politic shall not transact any
business or exercise any powers unless, by ordinance, the City Oouncil of the
City of Poway declares there is a need for such agency to function;
NOW, THEt~FORE, THE CITY O0UNCIL OF THE CITY OF i~DW-AY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.
It is hereby found and declared, pursuant to Section 33101 of the California
Health and Safety Code that there is a need for the Redevelopment Agency created
by Section 33100 of said law to function in the City of Poway. Said Agency is
hereby authorized to transact business and exercise its powers under the
C~L,,unity Redevelotmnent law, and shall be known as the "Poway R~development
Agency."
Section 2.
Pursuant to Section 33200 of the California Health and Safety (]ode, the City
Oouncil of the City of Poway does hereby declare itself to be the Agency, and
all the rights, powers, duties, privileges and in~nunities, vested by law in a
Redevleopment Agency, shall be vested in the City Oouncil of the City of Poway
exce~)t as otherwise provided by law.
Section 3.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force thirty (30) days after the date
of its passage; and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after its
passage, it shall be published once with the ns~nes and menbers voting for and
against the same in the Poway News Chieftain, a newspaper of general circulation
published in the Oounty of San Diego.

Section 4.
The B=develolm~emt Agency, hereby authorized to function, shall cause a certified
copy of this ordinance to be filed in the office of the Secretary of State of
the State of California.
Introduced and first read at a regular meeting of the City Oouncil of the
City of Poway held the 19th day of April, 1983, and thereafter PASSED AND
ADOPTED at a regular mccting of said City Oouncil held the 26~h day of
April , 1983, by the following roll call vote:
