ARESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
GRANTING A.8UBTERANEAN EASEMENT FOR
THE EMERGENCY WATER STORAGE PROJECT PIPELINE

ASSESSOR PARCEL NUMBER 320~201-23
WHEREAS, the San Diego County Water AuttJo~ity ~equested the CitY'.of Poway
grant a :subtefranean easemimt for an underground emergency water storage project
pipeline through a City-owned'open space parcel; and
WHEREAS, the easement is necessary for the completion of a water pipeline ','
thatwill iriterconnect Lake San Vicente and the San Diego Aqueduct; and
WHEREAS, acceptanc~of the pipeline easement as requested, is located .150
feet beneath an existing San Diego Gas and ElectriC'ElaSement, and the pipelinewill not
break the surface, cause the loss of habitat, and will noqnterfere with the Open Space
Easernent; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Po way
as follows:
Section 1, The proposed project is Exernpt from the California. Environmental Quality
Act (CEQA) pursuando Section 15061 (General Rule) of the CEQA Guidelines, in that it
can be said with certainty, that the project will not have any significant effect on the
environment because granting of the easernent will riot physically impact any sensitive
plant or animal species,or further encumber the open space parcel.
Section 2: The City Council hereby approves granting ofthe subterranean easement
for an emergency water ,storage project pipeline, which .shall be made appurtenant only
to the easement described in Exhibit "A", to ,the- San ,Diego C9unty Water Authority, its
Successors and Assigns, and directs th,e c;;ity Clerk of the City of Poway to cause a
certified copy of this Resolution to be recorded in the office of the San Diego County
Recorder
