A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
APPROVING COMPREHENSIVE SIGN PROGRAM 08-01
ASSESSOR'S PARCEL NUMBERS 323-481-19 and 20
WHEREAS, Comprehensive Sign Program (CSP) 08-01, submitted by Ocean
Park Hotels, Applicant, requests the approval of a Comprehensive Sign Program for the
site located at the northeast corner of Scripps Poway Parkway and Stowe Drive, in
the South Poway Commercial area of the South Poway Specific Plan, and
WHEREAS, on August 5, 2008, the City Council considered the above-
referenced item
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Poway, as follows'
Section 1. This proposed project is Categorically Exempt (Class 11) from the
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), pursuant to Section 15311 of the CEQA
Guidelines, in that it is for the placement of minor structures accessory to (appurtenant
to) existing facilities.
Section 2: The proposed Comprehensive Sign Program is in accordance with the
purposes and standards contained in the Poway Municipal Code
Section 3. The City Council hereby approves Comprehensive Sign Program 08-01,
pursuant to the plans on file in the Development Services Department dated June 24,
2008, subject to the following conditions.
A Within 30 days of approval, the applicant shall submit in writing that all conditions
of approval have been read and understood.
B All signs shall conform to the sign design guidelines contained within the
approved Comprehensive Sign Program, and the general provisions of the
Comprehensive Sign Ordinance of the Poway Municipal Code Should the CSP
standards be more restrictive than City standards regarding height, number
and/or area of signs, signs may be permitted by the City that exceed the CSP
standards provided the sign complies with City standards
C Individual signs require the issuance of a separate Sign Permit and may require
a Building Permit.
D Approval of this request shall not waive compliance with Chapter 1721 and
Chapter 1740 of the Zoning Code and all other applicable City Ordinances in
effect at the time of Sign Permit issuance
