RESOLUTION NO 08-073
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR A PUBLIC DISPLAY OF PYROTECHNICS
FOR POWAY HIGH SCHOOL HOMECOMING 2008
WHEREAS, the City of Poway prohibits the use of explosives within the City
unless specifically permitted by the City Council pursuant to Chapter 912 of the Poway
Municipal Code, and
WHEREAS, fireworks or pyrotechnic displays are defined within the Poway
Municipal Code as an explosive, and
WHEREAS, Poway High School will be conducting this year's homecoming
activities this September 26, and
WHEREAS, an application for permit for a public display of pyrotechnics for the
purposes of celebrating the homecoming activities being held at the Poway High School
stadium has been received by City staff; and
WHEREAS, the applicant is properly licensed pursuant to Part II, Chapter I of the
Health and Safety Code of the State of California,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway
as follows
Section 1 That the City Council of the City of Poway does hereby approve the
attached Application for Permit for a Public Display of Pyrotechnics subject to the
following terms and conditions
a) Full compliance with California Code of Regulations Title 19' Chapter 6
Fireworks, Article 15 Public Display and;
b) Subject to revocation of the permit at any time by Fire Department staff should
weather or safety compliance issues be documented.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Poway
at a regular meeting this 23rd day of September, 2008
