RESOLUTION NO. P-09-16
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
INITIATING GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT 09-01
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway recognizes that the need
may arise to amend the City's General Plan; and
WHEREAS, Section 65350, et seq., of the California Government Code
describes the procedures for amending General Plans; and
WHEREAS, Section 17.46.020B of the Poway Municipal Code (Zoning
Ordinance) provides that a change in the boundaries of any zone or a change in
regulations may be initiated by Resolution of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, on June 2, 2009, the City of Poway held a properly noticed public
hearing in accordance with the California Government Code; and
WHEREAS, General Plan Amendment 09-01 consists of the initiation of the
re-designation 95 parcels, or portions thereof, that have been acquired for, or
dedicated as, biological mitigation land or the preservation of open space from either
Rural Residential-A (RR-A), Rural Residential-B (RR-B), Rural Residential-C (RR-C)
or Planned Community (PC) to Open Space-Resource Management (OS-RM) or
Natural Open Space (OS) are located throughout the City and identified as APN:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Poway as follows:
Section 1: Initiation of a proposed General Plan Amendment is not subject to
CEQA review.
Section 2: The City Council hefeby approves the Initiation of General Plan
Amendment 09-01 to change the zoning and land use of 95 parcels, or portions
thereof, that have been acquired for, or dedicated as, biological mitigation land or the
pfeservation of open space from either Rural Residential-A (RR-A), Rural
Residential-B (RR-B), Rural Residential-C (RR-C) or Planned Community (PC) to
Open Space-Resource Management (OS-RM) Of Natural Open Space (OS) and are
located throughout the City.
PASSED, ADOPTED and APPROVED by the City Council of the City of
Poway, State of California, this 2nd day of June 2009.
