RESOLUTION NO. 09-040
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA;
APPROVING THE ADJUSTMENT OF THE AMOUNT OF EMPLOYER PAID MEMBER
CONTRIBUTION TO CALPERS
WHEREAS, the City council of the City of Poway has the authority to implement
Government Code Section 20691; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway has written labor agreements
which specifically provide for a portion of the normal member contributions to be paid by
the employer; and
WHEREAS, one of the steps in the procedures to implement Section 20691 is
the adoption of a Resolution by the City Council of the City of Poway to commence
paying said Employer Paid Member Contributions (EPMC); and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway has identified the following
conditions for the purpose of its election to pay EPMC:
. This benefit shall apply to all employees of Management Groups 2B, 3
and Confidential Group 4 of the ManagemenUConfidential Salary and
Benefit Plan, and those employees covered by the Memorandum of
Understanding between the City of Poway and the Non-Safety group.
. This benefit shall consist of paying 4% of the normal member contributions
as EPMC.
. The effective date of this resolution shall be June 29, 2009.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Poway elects to pay EPMC, as set forth above.
