A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
APPROVING THE LANDSCAPE AND IRRIGATION
DESIGN MANUAL AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION 97 -069
WHEREAS, the City's landscape and irrigation design standards were last
updated in 1997 and must be updated to include: (1) recent new requirements
established through Zoning Ordinance Amendment 09 -04, which added Chapter 17.41
to the Poway Municipal Code; (2) revised fire fuel management requirements, which are
easier for property owners to understand and easier for the City to implement; and
(3) other miscellaneous revisions to reflect current industry practices; and
WHEREAS, on January 5, 2010, the City Council held a public meeting to solicit
comments from the public, both pro and con, relative to this application.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway
as follows:
Section 1: The City Council finds that this project is exempt from the provisions of
the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), pursuant to Section 15061(b)(3)
of the CEQA Guidelines, because there is no possibility that the activity in question will
have a significant effect on the environment.
Section 2: The City Council hereby approves the Landscape and Irrigation Design
manual, dated January 2010, as incorporated herein by reference, to become effective
on January 15, 2010.
Section 3: Resolution No. 97 -069 is hereby rescinded.
PASSED, ADOPTED and APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Poway,
State of California, this 5th day of January 2010.
