AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
ADDING TO SECTION 10.42.010 OF THE POWAY MUNICIPAL CODE
ESTABLISHING TRUCK ROUTES ON ADDITIONAL ROAD SEGMENTS
AND DELETING A PORTION OF POWAY ROAD AS A TRUCK ROUTE
WHEREAS, Vehicle Code Section 35700 provides that cities may permit the
operation and moving of vehicles upon streets within their respective jurisdictions; and
WHEREAS, Vehicle Code Section 35701 provides that a city may prohibit the use of
a street by certain commercial vehicles with specified exceptions; and
WHEREAS, legal notice of this Ordinance was published pursuant to Vehicle Code
Section 35705 and Government Code Section 6064; and
WHEREAS, a Negative Declaration was issued prior to the adoption of this
Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Pursuant to Sections 35700 and 35701 of the California Vehicle Code
permitting prohibition of the use of a street by commercial vehicles or by vehicles
exceeding maximum gross weight limits, additional truck routes are hereby established.
Section 10.42.010 of the Poway Municipal Code shall be amended to include:

Ted Williams Parkway from the west City limit to Twin Peaks Road;
Stowe Drive from Pomerado Road to Scripps Poway Parkway;
Danielson Street from Community Road to Kirkham Way;
Kirkham Way from Kirkham Court to Danielson Street;
Espola Road from Poway Road to Twin Peaks Road;
Community Road from Kirkham Way to Poway Road;
Scripps Poway Parkway from the east City limit to the west City limit.
Section 10.42.010 of the Poway Municipal Code shall also be amended to delete:
Poway Road from State Route 67 to Espola Road.
Section 2: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force thirty (30) days after the date of
its passage; and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after its passage, it shall be
published once with the names of members voting for and against the same in the Poway
News Chieftain, a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Poway.

Introduced and first read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Poway
held the 20th day of August 2002, and thereafter PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular
meeting of said City Council held the 3rd day of September 2002, by the following roll call
