RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY
APPROVING CONTINUATION OF COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SERVICE
WHEREAS, public transportation is an important and vital service
for the City of Poway;
WHEREAS, the County of San Diego provides public transportation
services in the East County and rural areas of the San Diego Region;
W~EREAS, the City of Poway will have sufficient Transportation
Development Act funds for provision of bus service for Fiscal Year 1982;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED that the City of Poway
hereby supports the continuation of County of San Diego (County Transit
System) bus service for the Fiscal Year 1982; and
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Poway concurs with the
County of San Diego development of a request for proposal for the suburban
bus servie (presently operated by Aztec Bus Lines) covering the period
from July 1, 1981 to June 30, 1982 with a one year optional extension'
(approved by the City and the County prior to work commencing in the
second year); and
FURTHER that during this two year period, the City of Poway and
County of San Diego staff work to recommend a five-year public
transportation program for consideration, by the Poway Mayor and City
Council.
PASSED, ADOPTED and APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Poway,
California, at a regular meeting thereof this 20th day of January, 1981,
by the following roll call vote:
