A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
ACKNOWLEDGING AND ACCEPTING THE EXISTING MEMORANDA OF UNDERSTANDING
BETWEEN THE POWAY MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS
AND THE EMPLOYEES OF SAID DISTRICT
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FOWAY, CALIFORNIA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
W~REAS, on November 25, 1980, the San Diego County Board of
Supervisors adopted Resolution No. 11 ordering the Poway Reorganization,
including the incorporation of the City of Poway subject to the terms and
conditions specified in said resolution, which terms and conditions are
attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said Resolution No. I1 incorporation of the City
of Poway became effective December 1, 1980; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said Resolution No. 11 the Poway Municipal Water
District and the Pomerado County Water District are to dissolve February
1, 1981; and the City of Poway is the successor agency to said districts
and is required pursuant to the terms and conditions of the Poway Reorgani-
zation to assume responsibility for and honor all contracts,
understandings, and other obligations of the dissolved districts; and
WHEREAS, the Poway Municipal Water District Board of Directors has
recognized and has memoranda of understanding with three employee units,
which understandings are for a time period extending beyond February 1,
1981; and
WHEREAS, the Poway Municipal Water District Board of Directors has
recognized official representatives for each of these three employee units;
and
WHEREAS, the Pomerado County Water District Board of Directors has
officially recognized one employees' unit and an official representative
for that unit but has not entered into a memorandum of understanding with
said employee unit;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Poway, California hereby
acknowledges, recognizes and accepts the existing memoranda of under-
standing between the Poway Municipal Water District Board and the
employees of said District as agreements of the City of Poway and
pursuant to the terms and conditions of said agreements as they exist
on February 1, ~981, which agreements are attached hereto and incor-
porated herein by reference.

Section 2. The City Council of the City of Poway, California hereby
acknowledges and recognizes the foilowing designated persons or organi-
zations as the official employee representatives of the employees of
the City of Poway, formerly employees of the Poway Municipal Water
District and Pomerado County Water District:
Miscellaneous employees, Pomerado County Water District:
Represented by San Diego County Employees Association.
Non-Safety Employees, Poway Municipal Water District:
Represented by San Diego County Employees Association.
Safety Employees, Poway Municipal Water District:
Represented by Poway Firefighters Association.
Management, Supervisory and Confidential Employees, Poway Municipal
Water District:
Represented by a member of the Management Unit.
PASSED, ADOPTED and APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Poway,
California, at a regular meeting thereof this 27th day of January, 1981.
