AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMITS FOR VARIOUS STREETS WITHIN THE CITY
THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF POWAY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Pursuant to Sections 22357 and 22358 of the California Vehicle Code
permitting an increase or decrease in local speed limits upon the completion and
recommendation of an engineering and traffic survey, Chapter 10.32 Section I.
Decreased Speed Limits-subsections 10.32.040 and 10.32.050 and Section II
Increased Speed Limits subsection 10.32.240 are hereby added to read:
1. DECREASED SPEED LIMITS
Section 10.32.040 Poway Road. The prima facie speed limit
on Poway Road from Pomerado Road to E/O Carriage Road is decreased
to and established at thirty-five (35) miles per hour.
Section 10.32.050 Twin Peaks Road. The prima facie speed limit on
Twin Peaks Road between Community and Espola Roads is decreased to
and established at forty {40) miles per hour.
II. INCREASED SPEED LIMITS
Section 10.32.209 Camino del Norte. The prima facie speed limit
on Camino del Norte from the West City Limits to Twin Peaks and Pomerado
Roads is increased to and established at fifty {50} miles per hour.
Section 2: This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after
adoption and shall within fifteen {15) days of adoption be published with
the names of the Councilmembers voting for and against the same in the
Poway News Chieftain, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and
circulated within the City of Poway.
Introduced and first read at a regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of Poway held the 23rd day of February 1988, and there-
after PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of said City Council
held the 1st day of March, 1988, by the following roll call vote:
