AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
AMENDING CERTAIN SECTIONS OF TITLE 17
(ZONING DEVELOPMENT CODE)
OF THE POWAY MUNICIPAL CODE
(SPECIAL USES AND CONDITIONS)
WHEREAS, the City Council periodically finds it necessary to
amend Title 17 (Zoning Development Code) of the Municipal Code in
response to changing conditions within and outside of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council held a duly advertised public hearing
to provide interested parties the opportunity to address the pro-
posed amendments.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the City Council does
hereby adopt the following amendments as part of Title 17 (Zoning
Development Code) of the Poway Municipal Code.
Section 1: Amendment to Section 17.26.030.M and 17.26.030.N of
the Municipal Code are hereby established and shall read as follows
by a dashed underline for addition and strike-over for deletion:

The followin~ ~uidelines shall aRPl_y!
1. Only 12 individuals ma~ be sheltered at an~ ~iven time_b~ ~
Ra~t!c!p~t!n~ institution.
2. Maximum lenqth of sta3_within the RrRg~am is limited to six
weeks tota~,_two weeks maximum at each church.
3. Homeless .persons shall remain on church
~u~i~g. the hours of 5:00 ~.m. to 8:00 a.m. and must
~uRervised_b~ church personnel durin~ those hours.
N. Charitable sRecial events, including fundraising tours in resi-

residential neighborhoods, shall be limited to a two-da~ dura-
tion and no more than twice Re~ xear. Written notification of
~d~a~e~t_p~oRe~tx owners shall be requ~r~d_prlor to the event.

Additional uses determined to be similar to the foregoing in
the manner prescribed by Section 17.02.040 of the Zoning
Development Code.
Section 2: The City Council of the City of Poway hereby finds
that this amendment is consistent with the General Plan and the
intent and purpose of the Zoning Development Code
Section 3: The City Council of the City of Poway hereby finds
that this amendment will not cause significant adverse impacts on
the environment and issues a Negative Declaration.
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
thirty (30) days after the date of its passage; and before the
expiration of fifteen (15) days after its passage, it shall be
published once with the names and members voting for and against
the same in the ~Poway News Chieftain, a newspaper of general cir-
culation published in the City of Poway.
Introduced and first read at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Poway held the 23rd day of February, 1988,
and thereafter PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of said City
Council held the 1st day of March , 1988 by the
following roll call vote:
