Ord 29ORDINANCE NO. 29 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING BY REFERENCE SAN DIEGO COUNTY ORDINANCES PREVIOUSLY ADOPTED AS INTERIM ORDINANCES FOR THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA, ORDINANCES OF THE POWAY MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT, ORDINANCES OF THE POMERADO COUNTY WATER DIS- TRICT, AND ALL PREVIOUSLY ADOPTED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF POWAY, AS ORDINANCES FOR THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA; AND DECLARING THE URGENCY THEREOF. T~E CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Cal. Govt. Code ~50022.2, all San Diego County Ordinances previously adopted by reference as interim ordinances for the City of Poway by adoption of Ordinance 1 for the City of Poway, all Ordinances and Resolutions of the Poway Municipal Water District, and the Pomerado County Water District, and all Ordinances and Resolutions previously adopted by the City of Poway after the effective date of incorporation, are hereinafter adopted by reference as the Ordinances and Resolutions by and for the City of Poway until such time as said Ordinances or Resolutions are hereafter repealed, amended or modified by appropriate action of the City of Poway. Section 2. The City of Poway has previously incorporated and adopted as interim ordinances those San Diego County Ordinances effec- tive within the formerly unincorporated area of Poway. Pursuant to Govt. Code §35441, those interim ordinances expire one hundred and twenty (120) days after adoption. During said period the City of Poway has enacted ordinances that amend, revoke and/or supercede those previously adopted San Diego County Ordinances. It is the intent of the City Council for the City of Poway to continue to govern pursuant to the San Diego County Ordinances as amended, re- voked or superceded by Ordinances adopted by said Council since incorporation together with those Ordinances and Resolutions adopted by the Poway Municipal Water District and Pomerado County Water District prior to incorporation. Unless this ordinance becomes effective immediately, no local laws or ordinances will be effective within the incorporated area of the City of Poway. To preserve and protec~ the public Ordinance No. Page Two 29 health, safety and welfare, it is necessary that this ordinance be effective immediately.
