Res 161RESOLUTION NO. 161 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAYv CALIFORNIA PROVIDING FOR CERTAIN ADJUSTMENTS TO BE MADE IN THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF POWAY AND THE SAFETY EMPLOYEES. WHEREAS, the existing Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Poway and the Safety employees provided for meet and confer to be reopened after June 1, 1981 to discuss Article 5. Wages and Article 7. Payroll and Work Week; and WHEREAS, the City through its representatives, has reached agreement with the employee representatives as to certain adjustments to be made in salaries, said agreement being set forth in an addendum dated September 8, 1981; N(~;, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway as follows: Effective July 1, 1981, the classifications of 1) Fire Captains and Engineers will receive an increase in pay and the bi-weekly salary ranges will become $866.76 - $1087.38 and $776.31 - $973.84, respectively, and 2) The Firefighters and Apprentice Firefighters will receive an increase in pay and the bi-weekly salary ranges will become $666.46 - and $836.31 and $552.92 - $593.08 respectively, and 3) The Secretary/DisDatcher will receive an increase in pay and the bi-weekly salary range will become $536.26 - $666.55. The amended salary schedule referred to in this article is attached hereto as EXHIBIT "A" and is incorporated herein by reference. Emery, AN AMenDMENT TO THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING THIS ADDENDUM SUPERSEDES IN ITS ENTIRETY, ARTICLE 5 OF THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING DATED JULY 1, 1980, BETWEEN THE CITY OF POWAY SAFETY EMPLOYEES, AND THE CITY OF POWAY, EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 1981. ARTICLE 5. WAGES The 120 hour bi-weekly wage range for employees covered under this agreement shall be as follows: Apprentice Firefighter $ 552.92 - $ 593.08 Firefighter 666.46 - 836.31 Engineer 776.31 - 973.84 Captain 866.76 - 1087.38 The 80 hour bi-weekly range for employees covered under this agreement shall be as follows: Secretary/Dispatcher $ 536.26 - $ 666.55 Placement within the wage range for any position above shall be at the sole discretion of the City and based upon merit and the established City guidelines for merit consideration. Merit reviews will be conducted no less frequently than once each year. Merit reviews for position of Apprentice Firefighter will be conducted upon completion of the 2nd, 5th and 9th month of employment. Upon certification and for as long as they remain certified, employees filling the position of Paramedic shall receive the payment of a bi-weekly supplementary wage adjustment of $69.23. The Paramedic Coordinator shall receive the payment of a biweekly supplementary wage adjustment of $46.15. 4e This addendum shall remain in force and effect, as provided under Article Duration of Agreement, of the existing Memorandum of Understanding, dated July I, 1980.
