A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
~d~PROVING THE FILING OF ~?PLICATIONS FOR
1980 STATE GRANT ASSISTkNCE
WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the
California State Park Bond Act of 1980, which provided funds to the State
of California and its political subdivisions ofr acquiring lands and for
developing facilities for public r~creation; and
WERHEAS,. the State Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated
the responsibility for the administration of the program within the state,
setting up'necessa~, procedures governing application by local agencies
under the program; and
WEHREAS, said applications contain assurances that the applicant
must comply with; and
WHEREAS, the applicant agency will enter into an agreement with the
State of California for the acquisition and/or development of the projects; ·
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Poway hereby:
1. Approved the filing of applications for Roberti-Z'berg Urban
Open Space and Recreation program Act earmarked Exhibit A
2. Certifies that said City understands the assurances in the
application; and
Certifies that said agency has or will have sufficient funds
to operate and maintain the project; and
Appoints the City Manager as agent of the City of Poway to
conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents
including but not limited to applications, agreements, amendments,
payment requests, and so on which may be necessary for the comp-
letion of the aforementioned proejcts.
~PROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Poway,
California at a regular meeting thereof this 13th day of October,

Description of Project (Br,ef)
The four concrete tennis courts comprising 3/4 of an acre are part of the 28 acre
Poway Community Park. Each court will be lighted with a 12 foot fence and an
acrylic surface. Additional parking and landscaping will be added when funds
become available. The courts are centrally located in the City to allow access
to a wide variety of citizen groups. These will be the first public and lighted
courts in Poway.
