RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE
APPROPRIATION AND EXPENDITURE
OF FUNDS TO PROVIDE CONTINUED
SERVICES FROM JULY 1, 1982 UNTIL
THE ADOPTION OF A FINANCIAL PLAN
FOR FISCAL YEAR 1982-1983
WHEREAS, the State of California has notified the City of
Poway of the possible elimination of $1,117,856 in City revenues
derived from motor vehicle in lieu fees and cigarette tax subventions,
and
WHEREAS, the resulting impact of the loss of these funds has
delayed the preparation and adoption of a Financial Program for fiscal
year 1982-1983 which begins July 1, 1982, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to continue the operation of all
departments and activities of the City in order to maintain public
peace, health and safety, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide for the appropriation and
expenditures of City funds in order to finance the continuation of these
services,

ATTEST:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
as follows:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to provide for the
appropriation and expenditure of all funds necessary to
continue the existing City services at the level provided
for in the Financial Program for fiscal year 1981-1982 or
in effect upon the adoption of this Resolution.
These funds shall be accounted for as part of the regular
appropriations and expenditures that shall be approved upon
adoption of the Financial Program of the City of Poway for
fiscal year 1982-1983.
This Resolution shall remain in effect for a period not to
extend beyond July 31, 1982 or until the adoption by the
Poway City Council of the Financial Program for the fiscal
year commencing July 1, 1982 and ending June 30, 1983.
The appropriation and expenditures authorized by this
resolution shall not exceed $1,482,200, which is the amount
estimated to be necessary to provide for all services and
activities of the City of Poway for the period July 1, 1982
through July 31, 1982.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Poway,
California, this 29th day of June, 1982.
