A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
ESTABLISHING THE RATE FOR THE
FIRE PROTECTION FEE FOR FISCAL YEAR 1982-1983
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 61 requires that the Fire Protection Fee be
computed annually and the value of a point be adopted by Resolution; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Department has used the Fire Flow Method for cal-
culating the relative share of fire protection standby services received
by each parcel in the City as required by Ordinance 61; and
Whereas, the Fire Department has assigned a total number of 132,475.50
points to all parcels in the City using the schedule contained in Ordinance
No. 61; and
WHEREAS, a maximum number of ninety (90) points was assigned to a
given parcel based upon the available fire flow of 4,500 gallons per minute;
and
WHEREAS, the collection of a Fire Protection Fee was included as part
of the Poway Reorganization as adopted by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of San Diego and approved by the voters as part of the Poway
incorporation; and
WHEREAS, the County of San Diego is authorized to collect flat fee
service charges on the property tax roll.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE POWAY CITY COUNCIL AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the approximate amount of Fire Protection Fees to be collected
on the tax roll for fiscal year 1982-1983 is $413,231.40 based upon the
Fire Suppression budget for fiscal year 1982-1983.
2. That the value of a point as described in Section 4 of Ordinance
No. 61 has been computed to equal $3.12 for fiscal year 1982-1983.
3. That the amount collected by parcel be established by multiplying
the $3.12 per point times the amount of points assigned to each parcel.
4. That a hearing be held and be advertised in accordance with
Government Code Section 6062a.
