A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
INITIATING SPECIFIC PLAN AMENDMENT (SPA) 10 -02
WHEREAS, Chapter 17.47 (Specific Plan Regulations) of Title 17 (Zoning
Development Code) of the Poway Municipal Code provides the requirements for the
initiation, preparation and adoption of Specific Plans in accordance with Section 65450,
et seq., of the California Government Code (Article 8, Specific Plan); and
WHEREAS, Section 17.47.020.0 (Initiation) of the Zoning Development Code
provides that the City Council may initiate the preparation of, or amendment to, a Specific
Plan on property by Resolution; and
WHERAS, Specific Plan (SP) 08 -01 contains the land use, development and
affordability standards for the Brighton Place affordable housing project located in
Old Poway; and
WHEREAS, a Specific Plan Amendment is proposed to change the ratio of low
and very low affordable housing units within the Brighton Place development from that
approved in the Specific Plan to the ratio approved in the project's Financing Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway
as follows:
Section 1 : This initiation of a Specific Plan Amendment is not subject to the California
Environmental Quality Act. Environmental review will be conducted in conjunction with
the formal City Council action on the Specific Plan Amendment.
Section 2: The City Council of the City of Poway hereby initiates Specific Plan Amendment
(SPA) 10 -02.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Poway,
State of California, at a regular meeting this 9th day of November 2010.
