A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
REQUESTING FUNDING FOR
COUNTY LIBRARY DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the San Diego County Board of Supervisors must allocate Special
District augmentation funds to the fire, library and flood control districts
each year; and
WHEREAS, the San Diego County Public Library provides valuable cultural,
educational and recreational services to more than 500,000 people in the County,
including approximately 11,000 cardholders in Poway; and
WHEREAS, an inadequate funding level could adversely impact the services
available throughout the County Library system; and
WHEREAS, the Poway City Council values the regional library services pro-
vided the citzens of Poway.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Poway City Council requests that
the San Diego County Board of Supervisors make an appropriation equal in percen-
tage to the 1982-83 appropriation to the County Library District to ensure the
continuing viability of this desired service.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED, by the City Council of the City of Poway,
California, at an adjourned regular meeting thereof this lOth day of February,
1983.
