AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
AMENDING SECTIONS 17.52.050 AND 17.08.100.B OF THE POWAY MUNICIPAL CODE
CONCERNING ACTION BY DIRECTOR
AND MINOR DEVELOPMENT REVIEW CRITERIA FOR SINGLE-FAMILY
ROOM ADDITIONS, AND APPROVAL OF GUEST HOUSES (ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT 89-10)
WHEREAS, the City Council periodically finds it necessary to amend Title 17
{Zoning Development Code) of its Municipal Code in response to changing con-
ditions within the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council held a duly advertised public hearing in accor-
dance with requirements of the California Government Code and California
Environmental Quality Act to provide interested parties the opportunity to
address the proposed amendments.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained that the City Council does hereby adopt the
following amendments as part of Title 17 (Zoning Development Code} of the Poway
Municipal Code:
Section 1: Environmental Findings
The City Council of the City of Poway finds that ZOA 89-10 will not cause
significant adverse impacts on the environment and hereby issues a negative
declaration.
Section 2:
The Poway Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows with a dashed
underline indicating additions and strike-over indicating deletions:
17.52.050 ACTION BY DIRECTOR
A. The Director shall have the authority to approve, deny or modify applications
for Minor Development Review projects as designated below:
1. Single-family homes not within a tract subdivision, i.e. custom homes.
Construction of an addition to and/or reconstruction of a si~gle-fam~15
home which results in more than an additional 756 square feet of habit-
Remodeling, alterations or additions or commercial and industrial
buildings at less than 10,000 sq. ft. or 25% of the existing square
footage whichever is more restrictive.

For all other development review approvals, the Director shall reconiiiend
approval, with conditions, or disapproval of said application in a report to
the City Council.

EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall take effect and be in force thirty
{30} days after the date of its passage; and before the expiration of fifteen
{15} days after its passage, it shall be published once with the names and mem-
bers voting for and against the same in the Powa~ News Chieftain, a newspaper of
general circulation published in the City of Poway.
Introduced and first read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Poway held the 14th day of November, 1989, and thereafter PASSED AND
ADOPTED at a regular meeting of said City Council held the 28th day of
November , 1989 by the following roll call vote:
