A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
APPROVING COMPREHENSIVE SIGN PROGRAM 10 -01
ASSESSOR'S PARCEL NUMBERS 317 - 280 -37. 317 - 280 -77. AND 317 - 280 -78
WHEREAS, Comprehensive Sign Program (CSP) 10 -01, submitted by CEVA
Logistics, Applicant, and Parkway Commerce Center, LLC, Property Owner, requests the
approval of a modification to CSP 98 -03 for the Parkway Commerce Center located at
13651 -13771 Danielson Street, within the Light Industrial (LI) Land Use Designation in the
South Poway Specific Plan; and
WHEREAS, Comprehensive Sign Program 98 -03 was approved by the City Council
on December 18, 1998, and later modified on June 15, 1999.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway,
as follows:
Section 1: The proposed project is Categorically Exempt from the California
Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as a Class 11 Categorical Exemption, pursuant to
Section 15311 of the CEQA Guidelines, in that it is for the placement of minor structures
accessory to (appurtenant to) existing facilities.
Section 2: The proposed use is in accordance with the purposes and standards
contained in the Poway Municipal Code (PMC) and the South Poway Specific Plan.
Section 3: The City Council hereby approves Comprehensive Sign Program 10 -01,
subject to the following conditions:
A. Within 30 days of approval, the applicant shall submit in writing that all conditions of
approval have been read and understood.
B. All signs shall conform to the sign criteria and design guidelines contained within
the Comprehensive Sign Ordinance of the PMC, as amended from time to time,
and the approved Comprehensive Sign Program 10 -01.
C. Comprehensive Sign Program 10 -01 establishes the following:
1. Three - foot -high, non - illuminated channel letters for tenants that have less
than 30,000 square feet. The overall width of the sign shall not exceed
24 feet. The maximum sign area shall be four percent (4 %) of the building
face, not to exceed 100 square feet.
2. For tenants with Scripps Poway Parkway frontage, internally illuminated
individual channel letters and logos may be used.
3. Use of the following three colors for sign lettering: Red, Blue, and Gray,
in addition to white. This sign program will allow different colors for
nationally known tenants.

4. For primary tenants that exceed 30,000 square feet, the following types of
signs are allowed:
a. Signs may be cabinet style.
b. Signs that do not exceed five feet are allowed.
C. Signs that face Danielson Street and /or the parking lot may be
internally illuminated.
D. Approval of this request shall not waive compliance with Chapter 17.40 PMC and
all other applicable City Ordinances in effect at the time of Sign Permit issuance.
E. Prior to installing a sign, the applicant shall obtain approval of a Sign Permit
from the Planning Division and any necessary Building Division permits.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Poway,
State of California, at a regular meeting this 18th day of January, 2011.
