A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
OPPOSING THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN ORV PARK
IN SYCAMORE CANYON
WHEREAS, for over two years, the Department of Parks and Recreation
for the State of California has been pursuing the development of an ORV
park in Sycamore Canyon; and
WHEREAS, the City's requests for notice prior to meetings on Sycamore
Canyon have been continually ignored by the Department of Parks and
Recreation; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has failed to adequately
address the concerns of the City of Poway in the feasibility study and
the proposed EIR for Sycamore Canyon.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved, that the City Council of the City of
Poway officially opposes the development of an ORV park in Sycamore Canyon
and will seek opposition to this project from the State Legislature, Off-
Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Commission, the County Board of Supervisors
and surrounding local jurisdictions.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED, by the City Council of the City of Poway,
California, at a regular meeting thereof this 2nd day of August, 1983.
