A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA ADOPTING
PART ONE: THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE
CITY OF POWAY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND
AMENDING THE EXISTING LAND USE ELEMENT,
PARK AND RECREATION ELEMENT, TRAILS ELEMENT,
AND BIKEWAYS ELEMENT.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway recognizes the need for
comprehensive goals, objectives, policies and land use plan to guide the
future community planning of the City; and
WHEREAS, the State of California mandates the City of Poway to
incorporate those comprehensive goals, objections, policies and land use
plan into a general plan consisting of a minimum of nine mandatory
elements outlined in California Government Code Section 65300 et. seg.;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has held numerous community goal setting
meetings, workshops, and public hearings prior to, during, and subsequent
to the preparation of a Draft General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the preparation and public review of the Draft General Plan was
advertised and duly noticed pursuant to the provisions of the California
Government Code and the California Environmental Quality Act; and
WHEREAS, public review and testimony on the Draft General Plan has been
taken by the City Council and appropriate changes as directed by the City
Council have been incorporated into a Final General Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the City Council does hereby adopt the
Part One: The General Plan of the City of Poway Comprehensive Plan and
all associated exhibits including the Land Use Plan thus amending the
existing Land Use Element, Park and Recreation Element, Trails Element,
and Bikeways Element to be used for the long-range community planning
of the City of Poway and the review of public and private development
proposals undertaken within the City of Poway.
PASSED, ADOPTED, AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of
Poway, State of California, at a regular meeting thereof this 20th day of
September, 1983.
