Res 83-078RESOLUTION NO. 83-078 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA REQUESTING THAT CALTRANS CONDUCT A FEASIBILITY STUDY REGARDING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A TRAVERSABLE ROUTE THROUGH THE CITY OF POWAY WHEREAS, on October 12, 1983 representatives of the City of Poway, legislative representatives from the area districts, and representatives from the California Department of Transportation met to discuss State Highway 56 options and; WHEREAS, the City of Poway is being affected by a large level of regional traffic through its City streets and; WHEREAS, the citizens of the City of Poway are facing an unreasonable financial burden for maintenance of roads used by regional traffic and; WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Poway that a non-freeway State transversable route be established through the City of Poway. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Poway does resolve, determine and order as follows: 1. The City of Poway requests CalTrans to conduct a feasibility study of all existing possible transversable State routes through the City of Poway, and 2. The City of Poway requests that CalTrans do a specific study of Poway grade with regards to meeting State Highway standards, and 3. That CalTrans provide the City with a written list of steps which the City of Poway can follow to expedite the decision-making process with regard to traversable State routes through the City of Poway.
