A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CAT.T~ORNIA,
REQUESTING THE SAN DID ASSOCIATION OF CqDVERhtMENrS
COMPLETE THEIR STUDY PJ~]GARDING STATE ROUTE 125
WH~REAS, nearly two years ago, in March, 1982, the cities of San Diego and
Poway requested an alignment study for State Rmute 125 to be done by SANDAG; and
WTRR. REAS, over one year ago, in November 1982, the City of San Diego paid for
their share of the study and there was no longer a reason for SABDAG to delay in
conducting the study; and
WHEREAS, because the City of Poway was under state mandate to adopt its
General Plan as a newly-incorporated city, the plan adopted showed a route for
State Route 125; and
WHEREAS, in September 1983, the City of San Diego and SAhDAX; both requested
the General Plan not be adopted until the alignment study was cc~pleted, with no
indication of a completion date; and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway has repeatedly indicated its willingness to
cooperate with other agencies, including the City of San Diego and SANDAG, in
developing appropriate measures to a~te regional traffic.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ~RROLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POW;kY,
D~NDS that the San Diego Association of Governments in~ediately expedite the
completion of said study and forward it to the appropriate agencies.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED, by the City Council of the City of Poway,
California, at a regular :ting thereof this 20th day of December, 1983.
