A ~-qOLUTION OF THE CITY OOUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
ADOPIING THE SERIES 6 RE~ONAL
GROWTH FORECASTS
WHEREAS, the City of Poway has worked with the San Diego Association of
Goverrments (SANDAG) to update the Regional Growth Forecasts; and
WH]~EAS, confirmed data frcm the 1980 U.S. Census and current land use
information was used as a basis for these Forecasts; and
WHEREAS, the Forecasts show the likely future size of the City based on the
expected impl~nentation of the General Plan bet%~cn 1980 and 2000; and
WHEREAS, all sixteen cities in the San Diego region and the County of San
~iego participated in the process in order to assure that local General P]a~s
and C~t,LLunity Plans will complement each other in their implementation and the
implementation of the l~3ional C~rehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, these Forecasts will be used by SANDAG in all regional plans to
assure their consistency and accuracy; and
W~w~%S, the City of Poway intends to use the Forecasts for all General and
Ou,L%unity planning, sphere of influence, public facility and local transpor-
tation studies to insure their consistency and accuracy; and
WFRREAS, while the City of Poway forecasts for the number of dwelling units
and the average household size are not in agreement with the SANDAG forecast,
the population forecasts of the two agencies were ccmparable; and
WHEREAS, the Forecasts will be updated periodically at the direction of the
SANDAG Board; and
WHEREAS, the adoption of these Forecasts will have no effect on the State
subventions received by the City of Pow-ay.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, this 20th day of March 1984, that the
Oouncil of the City of Poway hereby adopts the population element of the Series
6 P~-~3ional Growth Forecasts for the City and certifies its use by SANDAG for
all regional studies and plans described in the FY 83-84 Overall Work Program
and subsequent Work Progr~ns until the Forecasts are updated.
BE IT ~ }~OLV~D, that the City of Poway and SANDAG will work together
to monitor: (a) cb~anges in household size in the City; and (b) the number of
dwelling units ~d~ed each year to the City's housing supply.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Series 6 Regional Growth Forecasts for the
future population of Poway are in substantial conformance with the Poway General
Plan.
PASSE), ADOPTED AND APPROVED, by the City Council of the City of Poway,
ca]{fornia, at a regular meeting thereof this 20th day of March, 1984.
