REGARDING SAN E~GOGOUN~Y
WHEREAS, San Diego Gounty is proposing a Trauma Manag~nent Plan wherein
certain hospitals will be designated as Trauma Centers; and
WHEREAS, the hospitals recommended for such designation are all within the
Metropolitan San Diego Area; and
WHEREAS, the other hospitals who had applied for Trauma Center designation,
including those in North County, have not ~c~n given the detailed reasons for
not being recuL,uended while being given only three days for appeal; and
WHEREAS, if a Tratm~ Management Plan truly is designed for and functions
best in an urban setting, consideration should be given to excluding the North
County area frcm the Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVfD by the City Gouncil of the City of Poway as
follows:
1. That the ~dvisory C~L,,,~ttee should furnish detailed background for
their recc~nendation to the hospitals.
2. That a designated Tram~a Center should be located in North San Diego
County.

That if Trauma Centers are intended for Metropolitan San Diego, North
ODunty area be eliminated frcm the Trauma Management Plan completely
since the problem of "by pass" does not exist in that area.
