A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
ESTABLISHING TRAFFIC CONTROL
DEVICES AT VARIOUS INTERSECTIONS
IN THE CITY OF POWAY
WHEREAS, the Office of Traffic Safety of the State of California has
financed a study which provided the City of Poway an inventory of all
existing traffic safety devices for the City of Poway and rec~tu~nded the
establishment of additional traffic control devices; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway desires to adopt the
traffic control devices included in the inventory; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that certain additional traf-
fic control devices should be es~_mhlished to implement the recoaraendations
contained in the study; and
WHt~EAS, Section 21100 of the California Vehicle Code permits local
agencies to adopt rules and regulations by resolution to regulate traffic
by memns of traffic control devices; and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway has adopted the County Traffic Code by
reference which authorizes the City Council to designate intersections to
be controlled by official control signals.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT t~F-qOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway
that:
1. The inventory of existing stop signs shown on Exhibit A is hereby
approved.
2. The existing traffic signal installations shown on Exhibit B is
hereby approved.
3. That the following additional traffic control devices are hereby
approved.
(a) Stop signs for north and south bound traffic on Midland Road
at the intersection of Twin Peaks Road.
(b) A traffic signal at the intersection of Poway Road and State
Highway 67.

(c) A traffic signal at the intersection of Poway Road and Espola
Road.
(d) A traffic signal on Pcmerado Road at the intersection with
the entrance driveway to Pcmerado Hospital.
(e) A traffic signal at the intersection of Twin P~_ks Road and
C~L,,~knity Road.
(f) Flashing signal on Espola Road in front of Poway High School.
PASSED, ADOPTED and APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Poway,
California at a regular m~ting thereof, this 3rd day of April, 1984.
