A BFSOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA AUTMORIZING THE RE~r.TOCATION OF
8th, 9th, AND 10th YEARS CDBG FUNDS FOR THE
DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF TRAFFIC MEDIANS ON PO~AY ROAD
AND THE INST~LTATION OF CURBS, GUTTERS, SIDEWALK, SOUNEYAI~.LT-q
LANDSCAPING ON A PORTION OF THE EAST SIDE OF POMERADO ROAD
WHEREAS, the United States Congress has enacted the Housing and Cut,~unity
Develolanent Act of 1974 providing federal funds for a wide range of housing and
c~.,¢unity develotxnent activities; and
WHEREAS, the traffic conditions on Poway Road have resulted in the loss of
life, personal injuries, and property damage; and
WHEREAS, a portion of the east side of Pcm~erado Road lacks adequate public
improvements as a result of faulty planning; and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway determines that these conditions have contributed
to the deterioration and dilapidation of a substantial number of buildings and
improvenents throughout these areas; and
WHERF~, these conditions are defined as blight under the Health and Safety
Code of the State of California.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway that
the 8th, 9th, and 10th years CDBG funds are hereby reallocated to the design and
construction of traffic medians on Poway Road and the installation of curbs,
gutters, sidewalks, soundwalls, and landscaping on a portion of the ~mt side of
Pcmerado Road and authorize the City Manager to make applications for these pro-
jects.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED, by the City Council of the City of Poway,
California, at a regular meeting thereof this 1st day of May, 1984.
