A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
DECLARING PARKLAbD DEDICATED ON
MAP 10596 (THE POND) TO BE KNOWN AS
~k~DIXEN PARK
WHEREAS, Bette Bendixen has ~__.n a resident of Poway since 1961, and during
the past 23 years has devoted extensive time and effort to improving the quality
of life in the c~,~.onity; and
WHEREAS, Bette Bendixen spent countless hours battling developers and the
County of San Diego to gain amenities for the cc~munity incl~ng threatening to
chain herself to a tree to demonstrate her sincerity and determination; and
WHEREAS, Bette Bendixen's c~,,aunity service included membership on County
Service Area No. 48 Advisory Board (Parks), Poway Planning and Develofa~ent
Program, and currently, the City's Parks and Recreation C~,~0~ttee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT Nw-gOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway
that:
1. Parkland dedicated to the City of Poway on Map No. 10596 (The Pond)
shall hereafter be known as Bendixen Park.

Bette Bendixen's many contributions to the c~t~iunity and the City of
Poway are gratefully acknowledged and sincerely appreciated by all the
residents of Poway, past, present and future.
PASSED, ADOPTED ASD APPROVED, by the City Council of the City of Poway,
California, at a regular meeting thereof this 12th day of June, 1984.
