A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
AMENDING THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF
THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF POWAY
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN (GPA 84-02C)
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway recongnizes that
the need may arise to amend the City's General Plan; and
WHEREAS, Section 65350, et seq., of the California Government
Code describes the procedures for amending General Plans; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway has determined
that the properties described on the attached list and in the Sphere
of Influence Study of July 24, 1984 should be included within the
City of Poway Sphere of Influence based upon the criteria discussed
in that report; and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway held a properly noticed public hearing
in accordance with the California Government Code and the California
Environmental Quality Act to consider that amendment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council amends the
General Plan Land Use Element Text and Map for properties described
on the attached list as follows:
Text Amendment
Add Policy 19.e Land within the Sphere of Influence boundaries
shall have the preliminary land use designations of Residential
Rural A and Open Space. In the Highland Valley, Starvation
Mountain, and Mount Woodson sub-areas, those properties described
in the Sphere of Influence Study of July 24, 1984 as Agricultural
Preserves (20) by the County of San Diego Land Use Map shall have
an 8 acre minimum lot size under the City of Poway preliminary
land use designation of Residential Rural A.
Map Amendment
The Land Use Map shall include the preliminary land use
designations of Residential Rural A and Open Space as described
in the Sphere of Influence Study of July 24, 1984.
PASSED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Poway,
