A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY APPROVING ~
APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUND~ UNDER THE
R~GIONAL COMPETITIVE, NEIGHBORH00~-
SERVING PROGRAM OF THE CALIFORNIA
PARK AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES ACT
OF 1984 FOR POWAY C(X~4UNITY PARK
FITNESS COURSE PROJECT
WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the California
Park and Recreational Facilities A~t of 1984, which provides funds to the State
of California and its political subdivisions for developing facilities for
public recreational purposes; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation has ~cn delegated the
responsibility for the administration of the program within the state, setting
up necessary procedures governing application by local agencies under the
program; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Departn~nt of Parks and
Recreation require the applicant to certify by resolution the approval of appli-
cations before sukmission of said applications to the state; and
WHEREAS, said applications contain assurances tb~t the applicant must c~ly
with; and
WHEREAS, the applicant agency will enter into an agre~nent with the State of
California for develo~xaent rehabilitation or restoration of the project;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Poway
hereby;
1. Approves the filing of an application for 1984 state grant assistance
for the Poway C~,~,~nity Park Fitness Course Project; and
2. Certifies that said agency understands the assurances and certification
in the application; and

Certifies that said agency has or will have sufficient funds to operate
and maintain the project, and if the project is selected for state
grant funding;
Certifies that said organization will provide construction plans and
specifications to the state within one y~ar of the appropriation of
funds under this program and will c(x~nence work {,,, ~3~iately after state
approval; and
Appoints the City Manager as agent of the City of Poway to conduct all
negotiations, e~ecute and sutxait all documents including but not
limited to applications, agreements, amendments, payment requests, and
so on which may be necessary for the cu~letion of the aforementioned
project(s) and;

6. Appoints Steve Eckis, City Attorney, as legal counsel for said agency
with authorization to sign the certification on page 1 of application.
