A Bw-qOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
SUPPORTING LEGISLATION TO ENSURE FUBDING
FOR THE AUTOMATED REGIONAL JUSTICE
INFORMATION SYSTEM (ARJIS)
WHEREAS, the Automated Regional Justice Information System (ARJIS) has
proven itself to be a significant and effective tool in the investigation and
resolution of criminal cases within the County of San Diego, with maximtml effec-
tiveness achieved by participation of all law enforcement agencies within the
County; and
WHEREAS, the County Criminal Justice Facility Temporary Construction Fund,
also known as AB 189 fund, derives revenue frem parking citiations issued by all
cities and upon other vehicle code offense fines collected by the Courts; and
WHEREAS, this fund is authorized to be used for Automated Justice Infor-
mation Systems; and
WHEREAS, legislation is being proposed to allocate fifteen percent (15%) of
this fund annually to ARJIS for improvement, operation and/or maintenance costs.
NOW, TW~.REFORE, BE IT RESOLV~I) BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PfY~qY AS
FOLLOWS:
The State Legislature is urged to support legislation assuring a fixed
source of funding for ARJIS from the County Criminal Justice Facility
T~m~orary Construction Fund.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED, by the City Council of the City of Po~ay,
California, at a regular meeting thereof this llth day of December, 1984.
