A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
APPROVING THE SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION FOR DISASTER RELIEF
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE UNDER PUBLIC LAW 93 -288 AND /OR
THE CALIFORNIA DISASTER ASSISTANCE ACT AND
DESIGNATING THE CITY'S AGENTS
WHEREAS, Federal financial assistance under Public Law 93 -288 as amended
by the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act of 1988, and /or
State financial assistance under the California Disaster Assistance Act may be available
to the City of Poway for municipal infrastructure recovery; and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway will file an application for assistance with CaIEMA,
the California Emergency Management Agency (formerly the California Office of
Emergency Services), for the purpose of obtaining disaster assistance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway
as follows:
The City Manager, or the Director of Public Works, or the Director of
Administrative Services is hereby authorized to execute for and on behalf of the City of
Poway, a public entity established under the laws of the State of California, an
application and to file it with CaIEMA, the California Emergency Management Agency
(formerly the California Office of Emergency Services), for the purpose of obtaining
certain federal financial assistance under Public Law 93 -288 as amended by the Robert
T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act of 1988, and /or State
financial assistance under the California Disaster Assistance Act.
This is a universal Resolution which shall be effective for all open and future
disasters.
The City of Poway, a public entity established under the laws of the State of
California, hereby authorizes its agents to provide to CaIEMA, the California Emergency
Management Agency (formerly the California Office of Emergency Services), for all
matters pertaining to such state disaster assistance the assurances and agreements
required.
PASSED, ADOPTED, AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of
Poway, California, at a regular meeting this 22n day of February, 2011.
