A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
AMENDING THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF
THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF POWAY
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN (GPA 84-03G)
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway recognizes that
the need may arise to amend the City's General Plan; and
WHEREAS, Section 65350, et seq., of the California Government
Code describes the procedures for amending General Plans; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway directed a review
of the land use designation on a parcel having an area of
approximately 5.88 acres and located on the north side of Twin Peaks
Road, west of Midland Road (APN 314-194-45);
WHEREAS, the City of Poway held a properly noticed public hearing
in accordance with the California Government Code and the California
Environmental Quality Act to consider that request; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway finds that the
property's slope of 20 percent is a constraint to development because
City policies prohibit radical landform alteration and that access
must occur from Victoria Estates Lane, thereby limiting the road
width and number of lots that can be served.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby
amend the General Plan Land Use Map for the above described
properties from Residential Single Family 3 to Residential Single
Family 2.
PASSED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Poway,
State of California this 18th day of December.
