A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
AMENDING THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF
THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF POWAY
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN (GPA 84-03I)
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway recognizes that
the need may arise to amend the City's General Plan; and
WHEREAS, Section 65350, et seq., of the California Government
Code describes the procedures for amending General Plans; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway directed a review
of the land use designation on a parcel having an area of
approximately 2.37 acres and located on the west side of Community
Road, south of Civic Center Drive (APN 317-474-06);
WHEREAS, the City of Poway held a properly noticed public hearing
in accordance with the California Government Code and the California
Environmental Quality Act to consider that request; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway finds that
Policy 3b. of the Flood Hazard Element of the Comprehensive Plan,
which states that undeveloped land within the 100-year floodplain
should be designated for rural residential or open space uses,
applies to this property.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby
amend the General Plan Land Use Map for the above described property
from Residential Single Family 3 to Residential Single Family 3 for
that portion of the property located outside of the
floodway/floodplain and Residential Rural C for that portion of the
property lying within the floodway/floodplain.
