A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA SETTING COUNCIL POLICY
FOR PRE-APPLICATION REVIEW OF REQUESTS OF THE PUBLIC
FOR AMENDMENTS OF THE POWAY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 84-053
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to establish a
policy for the review of requests of the public for amendments to the
Poway Comprehensive Plan prior to actual submittal;
WHEREAS, the City Council's consideration of a pre-application
request is not binding on a prospective applicant;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Poway City Council does
hereby establish the following policy:
Section 1: Submittal of Pre-Application Requests
Pre-application requests must be submitted to the Planning
Services Department no later than 5:00 p.m. on the first Friday
in April. The submittal shall include all those items required by
the Director of Planning Services that are deemed necessary for
City Council review.
Section 2: Review of Pre-Application Requests
Review of pre-application requests shall occur once a year on the
first regularly scheduled City Council Thursday workshop meeting
in May or as soon thereafter as possible. Public notice of the
review of pre-application requests shall be published in the
Poway News Chieftain.
Section 3: Review of the City Council
Review of the City Council on pre-application requests shall not
be binding; however, the review shall be considered advisory.
After said review the applicants, if they wish to proceed further,
shall submit the application fee and any other data deemed
necessary by the Director of Planning Services.
PASSED ADOPTED AND APPROVED, by the City Council of the City of
Poway, California, at a regular meeting thereof this 8th day of
January, 1985.
