A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
GRANTING AN EXTENSION FOR
DEMOLITION OF THE APARTMENT BUILDING
AT 12347 POMERADO ROAD
WHEREAS, on April 17, 1984 the City Council of the City of
Poway determined that the apartment building located at 12347
Pomerado Road was unsafe, substandard, and a public nuisance;
WHEREAS, the City Council ordered that the unsafe and sub-
standard conditions be corrected or the building demolished by the
property owner by October 17, 1984;
WHEREAS, the unsafe building has been vacated and electrical
service has been discontinued;
WHEREAS, the property owners were in the process of preparing
a development feasibility study for a new apartment project on the
site and requested on October 16, 1984 that the time for demolition
of the unsafe building be extended by the City Council to coincide
with site preparation for the new project;
WHEREAS, the City Council granted aa ninety (90) day extension
for demolition of the unsafe building on October 16, 1984;
WHEREAS, the City Council granted a second ninety (90) day
extension for demolition of the unsafe building on January 15,
1985;
WHEREAS, the property owners have diligently progressed by
submitting an application for Development Review of a new apartment
project; and
~EREAS, the property owners have installed six (6) foot high
chain link fence with locked gate around the unsafe building as a
step toward its demolition and provided a secured agreement to
insure the removal of the unsafe building;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Poway as follows:
The City Council hereby grants a second extension of
time of ninety (90) days to July 16, 1985 or until the
Development Review application comes before the City
Council for consideration, for the property owners to
demolish the building as described in Resolution p 84-22.
