A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
APPROVING COMPREHENSIVE SIGN PROGRAM 02-02
ASSESSOR'S PARCEL NUMBERS 317-281-14 and 27
WHEREAS, Comprehensive Sign Program (CSP) 02-02, submitted by Clear
Sign & Design, Applicant, requests the approval of a Comprehensive Sign Program for
a multi-tenant industrial building located at 13200 Danielson Street, within the South
Poway Planned Community zone.
WHEREAS, on December 10, 2002, the City Council considered the above-
referenced item.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council does hereby resolve as follows:
Section 1: The Comprehensive Sign Program is exempt from the provisions
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), as a Class 11 Categorical Exemption,
pursuant to Section 15311 of the CEQA Guidelines, in that it is for the placement of
minor structures accessory to (appurtenant to) existing facilities.
Section 2: The proposed use is in accordance with the purposes and standards
contained in the South Poway Specific Plan and the Poway Municipal Code.
Section 3: The City Council hereby approves Comprehensive Sign Program 02-02,
subject to the following conditions:
Within 30 days of approval, the applicant shall submit in writing that all conditions
of approval have been read and understood.
All signs shall conform to the sign criteria and design guidelines contained within
the South Poway Specific Plan Development Standards and the general
provisions of the Comprehensive Sign Ordinance of the Poway Municipal Code
as amended from time to time.
C. The following design standards shall apply to all tenants within the center:
Using the same background color on all signs. The color palette used for
the wall sign background is white. The monument sign will be painted with
same background color.
Using not more than three different colors for sign lettering. In addition to
white, sign lettering on wall signage may have the following colors: blue,
red and black.

3. Proposed wall signs shall be constructed of individual channel letters
made of 1/8-inch acrylic faces laminated to 2-inch high density foam.
4. The channel letter wall signs shall be non-illuminated.
5. Different colors for tenant Iogos will be allowed subject to the approval of
the Director of Development Services. Tenants that are part of a chain of
stores with a nationally recognized sign design may utilize colors other
than the approved colors.
6, The maximum number of wall signs allowed for any one business shall be
one (1).
7. The monument sign shall be designed to be compatible with the overall
design of the center, A separate sign permit is required prior to installation
of any freestanding sign.
Approval of this request shall not waive compliance with Chapter 17.40 of the
Zoning Code and all other applicable City ordinances in effect at the time of sign
permit issuance.
Prior to installing a sign the applicant shall obtain a Sign Permit from the
Planning Division and any necessary Building Division permits.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Poway,
State of California, at a regular meeting this 10th day of December 2002.
